If you are just starting, then the first step is to attract readers to your blog is to maximize all the benefits that search engines offer. This means that you will be attracting traffic through the search results from major search engines like Google and Yahoo. You can start by using the right keywords and the right tags in your posts and posting frequently – perhaps daily.
